Except no substitutes, among these collections are the very first shots of the Rolling Stones taken in early 63 before they had a recording contract. The First Photo Session was used among the props when Andrew Loog Oldham and Eric Easton went to Decca to secure their contract. You can see these under the First Session listing. Another first are the shots in chequered jackets, only worn on one occasion, which is recorded here whilst appearing on TV for the first time. They were taken at the ATV Studio, Birmingham. Helen Sharpiro was top of the bill. Note the fashion conscious fans!
Brian has a tiff with the rest of the group in one shot and has his make-up touched up in another one. The earliest of all the collection is their first gig at Studio 51 on a Sunday afternoon in leather jerkins that they wore at Richmond. Other snappers claim to be the official photographer in their early days, however as you can see I held that dubious title. I was the only snapper Andrew Loog Oldham allowed to take his new discoveries. They are historic and I am proud to have been there. Be one of the first fans after 40 years to own a print.
